Hydraulic System Cleaning Service
Professional hydraulic system flushing for steel mills and industrial facilities. We remove contamination, restore cleanliness levels, and protect your equipment from the kind of failures that shut operations down.
When Does a System Need Flushing?
Most clients come to us in one of four situations:
The system is contaminated and performance has dropped. A major component has failed and debris has spread through the system. A new system has been installed and needs to be flushed of construction debris before operation. Or a scheduled maintenance interval has come up and the system needs to be cleaned to extend equipment life.
We also handle oil type changes in existing systems, where flushing is a best practice before introducing new fluid.
What Happens If You Skip It
Skipping a flush after contamination or a new install is not a cost saving. It is a risk. Contaminated hydraulic fluid causes:
Loss of system pressure
Overheating
Accelerated component wear
Premature valve and pump failure
Full system shutdown
The cost of a flush is almost always a fraction of the cost of a contamination related component failure or unplanned shutdown.
Our Cleanliness Standard
SEM's target cleanliness level during flushing is half the level required during normal operation. For example if your system operates at ISO 15/13/11 we flush to ISO 14/12/10.
This gives your system a clean baseline and protects components from the moment it goes back into operation.
Our processes meet requirements for both solid particle cleanliness and moisture content in 99 percent of applications.
Our Capabilities
This is where SEM is genuinely different from most shops. We run our own custom designed flushing equipment with capabilities most service providers cannot match:
-

Up to 200 GPM high flow flushing capacity
-

Low pressure drop across systems for efficient fluid movement
-

Directional reversal on the run through our in house designed low control skid
-

Online real time particulate, temperature, and flow monitoring
-

Duplex filter designed skid for continuous filtration without shutdown
-

High flow, high capacity flush manifold
Have a System That Needs Flushing?
Every job starts with a conversation. Tell us about your system and we will develop a custom flush scope based on your requirements, your timeline, and your target cleanliness specs.
-
No two hydraulic systems are exactly the same. We develop a custom flush scope for every job based on system design, line size and length, site layout, line material, and target cleanliness specifications.
Every flush comes with documented flush plans, notes, and results that you keep for your records. We do not just flush and leave. You get a full paper trail showing exactly what was done and what cleanliness levels were achieved.
-
For clients who want everything handled under one roof, SEM offers complete turnkey hydraulic system packages. That means design, fabrication, installation, and flushing all handled by one team. No coordinating multiple vendors, no gaps between what was built and what was flushed.
Flush packages include hose building, hose installation, and piping and millwright services to handle every aspect of the flush from start to finish.
-
SEM specializes in stainless steel hydraulic systems and recommends stainless components for all new builds. For systems using carbon steel piping an initial chemical cleaning following the DEWA DPI system protocol is strongly recommended before a mechanical flush.
SEM does not provide chemical cleaning services but we can manage the process and connect you with qualified DPI cleaning professionals to handle that step before we come in for the mechanical flush.
-
We can typically mobilize within a couple of days. For planned shutdowns we coordinate in advance so everything is staged and ready to go the moment your window opens. For emergency situations we move as fast as the job requires.
-
Our hydraulic system cleaning clients are primarily steel mills and heavy industrial facilities where hydraulic systems run critical equipment and downtime is not an option. We have completed flushing work for some of the largest steel producers on the East Coast.
