Careers at Southeast Mechanical
We are not looking for warm bodies. We are looking for people who take pride in their craft, show up on time, and do not need to be told twice. If that sounds like you, keep reading.
Years In Business
16+
Joey Olin started Southeast Mechanical in 2009 because he believed skilled tradespeople deserved a place built around doing things right. That is still what this company is. We work on real industrial projects for some of the largest steel producers on the East Coast. The work is demanding, the standards are high, and the people who thrive here are the ones who would not have it any other way.
Projects Completed

We’re Hiring!
We hire people who are hard working, self motivated, reliable, and always looking to improve their skills. People who take ownership of their work and walk away from a job knowing it was done right. People who can work independently without constant supervision and who treat safety as a non negotiable, not an afterthought.
If that is you, we want to hear from you.

What You Can Expect Here
-
Most of our training is hands on and in the field. You learn by doing real work on real jobs alongside experienced tradespeople from day one. Some projects require certified welders depending on client requirements. Welding certification is not always required to get hired but it is encouraged and will open more opportunities as you grow with the company.
-
Most shifts run about 10 hours. You might be in the shop fabricating, on a job site installing, or traveling to a client facility for shutdown work. Some travel is required depending on the project. During shutdowns and outages there are strong overtime opportunities. Drug testing is required at hire and periodically throughout employment.
-
Safety is not optional at SEM. All employees complete a minimum of 10 hours of OSHA safety training plus annual refreshers and site specific training before stepping foot on any client facility. We are ISNetworld A-Rated and we expect everyone on our team to hold that same standard.
-
SEM has grown from three people to 32 full time employees in 16 years. That kind of growth creates real opportunity for people who want to move up. Show up, work hard, keep improving, and there is room to grow here.
Don’t Just Take Our Word For It!
"Couldn't ask for a better crew to work with at SEM. They always come together to bounce ideas off of each other to find a solution when a problem arises and push to finish the job safely."
- Ethan (Foreman)
"Working at SEM has been a great experience! It doesn't matter if you're a welder, millwright, or just a hand, the focus on teaching and improving the quality of your work is unmatched.”
— Coy (Foreman at Metglas)
"Working at SEM is great; I enjoy that no two jobs are the same." Whether it's a large project or a small one, there's always something different that keeps things interesting."
— Adrian, XYZ
